Who’s been to Upper Kananaskis Lake? I’m dying to get up there now that I have finished this painting! Seriously…let me know if you want to go hiking! This new commission piece is for a client who has some very special memories spent camping and hiking at the lake with her family. She had the most spectacular photos to work with – the reflection of the mountains on the lake were perfect. A challenge to paint and get just right, but totally worth it! Each stage of creating a painting together is awesome – I love meeting new people, getting to know them, making a plan together, the actual painting and then the big reveal! So, of course – commission delivery days are the best days of all! *I asked my client to name this one as I didn’t have a personal connection to the lake. She decided to call it Upper Kananaskis Lake Twinning – she has twins and it’s so fitting to the painting – I love it!
