This one’s for the birds!

When I was little, my grandma used to always say ‘a little birdie told me’….I literally thought that one of the birds in her backyard had flown down and told her some all knowing news about me. I guess I had read Snow White too many times! This little Swallow on a branch in our blossoming crabapple tree looks just like what I had imagined that little bird would have looked like. Imagine all the secrets this little guy must have! A Little Birdie Told Me ~ Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas 15″x30″ ~ SOLD #Albertabirds #Birdpainting #Alittlebirdietoldme #Calgaryartist

Party Time!

Every fall the Cedar Waxwings mob our backyard and devour the berries on our mountain ash tree and…they get drunk! They fly around wildly, in circles, into the windows (never a fatality), hang upside down and cause total havoc! It is very entertaining to watch and I love trying to get the perfect shot of them with my camera. Usually by the time they come to clean the berries off the tree, the grayness of winter is setting in. I count myself pretty lucky to catch the show that these pretty (and a little drunk) birds put on.
