Pynelogs Summer Art Show 2021

This summer I will be showing my newest collection of paintings at Pynelogs Art Gallery in Invermere, BC. They are all inspired by the beauty of the Columbia Valley, from Radium Hot Springs to Fairmont Hot Springs and all the little gems in between. If you are in the area, please stop by and see the new paintings! I would love to hear what you think! They will be at Pynelogs Art Gallery from August 3rd to August 22nd.

Adirondack Bliss

Happy One Year Anniversary  to a couple of super sweet newlyweds! My client commissioned this painting as an anniversary gift for her new husband. Last year during the height of the Covid craziness they celebrated their wedding together in Jasper! What a beautiful way to remember their special day.

Orange Sky Delight

A new painting for a very special couple on their 25th Wedding Anniversary! Congratulations Ed and Michelle! And Thank You for this super fun commission!

This paint is a view of the mountains and foothills from the Springbank, Alberta. Anyone who lives along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains know the sky can be easy entertainment as it’s always putting on a show! *An edge view of the painting to show how I wrap my painting image around the edges and pay special attention to the finish.

The Ultimate Train Spotting

A fun day train spotting with one of my favourite adventure buddies this past winter inspired this painting. A summer view of Morant’s Curve (because who really wants anymore winter right now?). Thank you so much for the commission Chrystal and Brent – hope you enjoy it! Morant’s Curve ~ 10″x20″ Acrylic On Gallery Wrapped Canvas

Out Of The Fog

Commission Delivery Day – Always very exciting for me! I love this painting and the way the fog is coming off the river and the trees are silhouetted in the shadows. It was challenging (which is why I LOVE doing commissions) and it was a a lot of fun to paint! Castle Mountain is one of my favourite mountains, it is so grand and impressive – I love how it is rising up out of the fog in this painting.

A Rocky Mountain Sundae

A new painting! Actually, it’s a great BIG new painting! Late last summer after a great day of hiking, we were on our way home and came upon a very empty highway and this gorgeous view! It is so unusual for the Kananaskis Highway 40 to be deserted and especially this past summer! Lucky for us we were able to pull over to get some super cool shots of the highway and Mount Kidd. It was the whipped cream and cherry on top of an already awesome day!

Poo With A View

Well, Some outhouses are just in the prettiest places aren’t they? A fun little painting to help celebrate one on my hiking buddy’s birthday! Plain of Six Glaciers in Banff National Park, a great hike near Lake Louise, Alberta. Can you guess how they empty these outhouses way out in the backcountry?

How Far Will It Go?

A common sight across Canada! Canadian Pacific Railway cars painted with bright coloured graffiti. The industrial iron giants travelling along beautiful Canadian backdrops – oceans, mountains, lakes, rivers, and farm fields. I’m always a bit mesmerized by the graffiti on trains – Who did it? Where was it done? How far has it travelled? And what the heck does it mean?!?!?! Travelling from the Pacific Coast, over the Rocky Mountains, through the prairies, on and on! But what gets me the most is how cool it looks! Can you imagine your art travelling across the country for everyone to see? That’s pretty awesome!! (even if it’s illegal) I took these photos last summer near Brisco, British Columbia after a drive to our favourite veggie greenhouse – It was a fantastic summer day!

Sweet Tullalah

This is a commission I did for a friend as a Christmas present. Now that Christmas is done I am able to share it. A little painting to celebrate a sweet girl who recently passed away.

I want to share a message from the recipient of this painting. How amazing is it that I get to be a part of something so special?

“This made my Christmas morning. Thank you so much for capturing my sweet baby’s soul. She was the joy in my life. We actually carried this painting into every room we went into on Christmas Day so she was a part of it. Thank you so much for painting this. It was the best Christmas present I’ve ever received.”
